Its the oddest thing ... although the benchmarks finished positive and close above Friday's closing price, the charts are showing us a bearish candle when we should be seeing Bullish Haramis on all three. I have noticed that Prophet.net's charts have been acting funky lately. On 26 December 2005, $SPX should be showing us a Bullish long day Opening Morubozu but we get a funky Bullish Spinning Top instead. Be aware that this happens from time to time so its better to double check the intraday action before assuming that the chart is correct. Look at the DOW (ticker = $INDU). I have drawn in the (horizontal) opening and closing lines as well as the (vertical) full range. Of course the lower line is the opening and to top line is the closing. Now look at OX's opening price and compare that to E-Trade's (correct) figure. Now take a look at NASDAQ ($COMPQ) and S&P 500 ($SPX) and compare them with E-Trade's opening numbers; NASDAQ on OX NASDAQ on ET S&P 500 on OX S&P 500 on ETThis sort of glitch will screw up Candlestick Practitioners so please be diligent and don't take in everything wholesale. If anyone has or spots these sort of problems, please share the knowledge and let your fellow traders in on your discovery. No prizes for your sharing but you can go to sleep knowing that you did a good thing and probably saved us from losing a whole bunch of money. It will be appreciated, I assure you. Cheers! and be careful. Conrad

you can do virtual trading by setting up an account on OX for free ... just dun fund it ... that means dun transfer money to them.
For what i understand is the commision for OX is 14.95 US per trade. Minimum account i think is 2k to setup. Im not very sure on the minimum account though ... you may like to find out at their website =)
In any case ... is better to pick up some books or attend Conrad class which will benefit you more ... happy hunting =)

Minimum account of $2k is a requirement set by SEC in the US and not by the broker.
It's $1.50 per contract but with a min. ticket charge of $14.95. So, if you do 1 contract, you pay $14.95. If you do 5 contracts, it is also $14.95. But if you do 20 contracts, it will be $30.
Before you start trading, have a business plan first. What's your business objective? How do you propose to execute the plan? How do you prove to yourself that you will make money every month? You need not rush now to get virtual trading experience. Start from very basic and the market will wait for you, some day.

Timely question indeed. I am still in San Diego and am very pleased to announce that I have 99.9% sealed an agreement with Think Or Swim that will allow my students and graduates of WA to trade on TOS at only $1.50 per trade!! ;D
Now am I working hard or what?!
Details on this coup when I get back.
Cheers everyone and greetings from San Diego! ;D
